Control, Alt, GROSS

What’s something you touch every day and is teeming with as much bacteria as a New York City sidewalk? No, it’s not your phone, it’s not your shoes and it’s definitely not your toilet seat.

It’s your computer keyboard.

It seems we never get sick of these stories that examine exactly how disgusting your keyboard is, and the latest comes from merry old London. A consumer group turned the spotlight on itself and examines 33 keyboards in its own office. They found that four of the keyboards were considered probable health hazards and one keyboard had 150 times the amount of bacteria that is considered safe for people. Needless to say, that one was thrown out.

Clearly, if you want to live healthier, you should do something about this. After reading this article, our New York staff  cleaned their computers with disinfectant wipes. Promise us you’ll clean your keyboard today, please? If you do, tell us how you’re doing it (or if you’re getting rid of they keyboard altogether). [BBC News]
