Berry Good

An article in Science Daily today claims that compounds in strawberries, blueberries and certain herbs like rosemary can kill childhood leukemia in a controlled lab test.

Though scientists have yet to recreate these results in a human, this research does support theories asserted by health experts like Harvard researcher Walter Willett, M.D., who has long claimed that one’s diet is directly connected to healthy living.

This doesn’t mean you should abandon all other foods and just eat strawberries and blueberries, but including them in your diet can’t hurt. Try throwing in blueberries into your yogurt in the afternoon or add strawberries to your cereal in the morning. You’ll not only be eating a healthier diet in the short-term, but you could be preventing disease over the long-term.

I love strawberries and blueberries.

I read an interesting article about how the pomengranate craze has been spurred by the people who have the largest farm. It seems they're the ones getting out the good news.

The only bad news about these reports is that it causes the price of the items to rise. Notice how much more blueberries have gotten in the past few years since they've been show to contain anti-oxidants.
