Breakup Comedy

Actor Jason Segel knows from a breakup. In fact, he used a real-life breakup example in the opening scene of his new comedy, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

Segel’s then girlfriend came over for what he thought would be a little romance, so he was (un)dressed appropriately. Unfortunately, she came to break up, and proceeded to do just that as he stood there naked. He took the humiliation and turned it into comedy gold, revealing his  pain—and his entire body!

We’re not suggesting that you go out and get Judd Apatow to help you make a film about getting over your ex, but perhaps you can take an opportunity to look at a past relationship and laugh a little bit through the tears. After all, there has to be something funny that you and your partner did or said to one another, whether during the break up or the relationship! Learn to see the good with the bad—it will help you forge better relationships down the road.

Share your funny breakup stories with us. We want to hear them!
