I really think wii fit in addition to home workout dvds are a great alternative to the gym!! i have a great home workout page that allows people to work out in the comfort of their own home! Link :)

I used to hate working out, and the Wii Fit made it fun for long enough to get me over the idea that working out *had* to be miserable. I'm starting to move on to other things, but I'm definitely in better shape than I would have been without starting with the Wii Fit.

I think the WII is great for beginners and people who are morbidly obese. If you already have some exercise experience behind you it will serve you better to use some fitness videos that add a higher level of intensity. The WII will be great for teh first 30 days of use but after that your body will soon adapt and your bendfits will level off. As a personal trainer I would recommend some of the beach body products or join a gym and hire a trainer once a month who will put you on a good program.
