Keep a Journal
I've been searching for something to help me live a happier life for awhile. I've tried meditation and all the recommended tools, except a journal. That's pretty odd when you think about it because I'm a writer. But, it make sense because I enjoy writing.
Anyway, I've started writing in the journal in free form - whatever I'm thinking I write down. I try not to worry about editing or needing to make it a cohesive entry in anyway. By doing this and going back to read it, I've discovered several small patterns that are making me unhappy in my life. So, now I have a starting point to fix them. Besides, journals are great tools to express your true inner feelings without fear of confrontation or judgment, which can really help.
