Answer:

It was harder than I expected it to be. I was still breastfeeding and, had to pump in between meetings and felt like 80% of my focus was on my baby and not the work. I was also feeling guilty because I felt that i was not doing a good job as a mother nor at work. My baby is now 9 months and I feel much better. The most important shift for me was to understand that my daughter has her 'own guardian angels'looking after her and that she will be ok without me as long as I make sure the caregiver is someone I fully trust. I also followed the advice of a great friend and asked for flexible working schedule and now I am able to work from home at least one day a week. With my husband we are also splitting the responsibility of getting home 'early', so two days a week I get to focus just on work and leave a little bit later. Just recently another friend recommended that we buy a computer with camera and teach our caregiver how to turn on the video via skype so i can see the baby...dont know if it will work, but i will give it a try. Finally, another friend suggested that the caregiver brings the baby to work so i can go and have lunch with her once every two weeks...
