Let Florida Help You Kick the Habit

To the Floridians who are trying to quit smoking: Be grateful. Your state is willing to give you two months’ worth of nicotine patches, lozenges and/or gum for free as part of its “Stop Smoking Now” campaign.

In addition to the state-wide butt-kicking freebies, each county will have its own campaign to promote quitting smoking. One county is sending college students out with flyers to promote the health benefits of quitting smoking. Another is having a contest among high school students to urge their peers to quit smoking. The videos will post on YouTube, and the winners will receive iPods and other prizes.
