It’s fun to imagine what it’s like to be a celebrity every now and then.
“Yes, I’ll meet Denzel Washington at the Four Seasons for a drink…”
“No, I want the Bentley in sky blue, not silver…”
“Tell Armani that I need a dress for the Oscars, like, yesterday…”
Ahh, but in those dreams you forget that your body weight is constantly under scrutiny when you’re famous, and paparazzi are on every corner waiting to watch you stuff your face with ice cream or sip on ice chips for lunch.
People like Janet Jackson and Renee Zelleweger are under intense pressure to lose weight or stay skinny to stay in the business, but they’re not doing anything different than you are. Celebrities may hear about the newest tonics and potions for weight loss before you do, but they rarely work and always come back to the basics of losing weight—fewer calories in and more calories burned equals weight loss. The only difference is that you get to do it in private, while they do it in public.
