Question:How do you cut costs in your "social life" without totally losing it?

That makes me sound like a party animal, which I'm not! But, I live in New York City, where going out to dinner, visiting museums, having drinks, etc. are part of life. And it's fun! So, how do you budget more around these things without flat-out turning things down?

Answer:

Ah, the age-old quandary of living in New York. If you find a cheaper place to live, it'll cut your monthly expenses down considerably. Also, be cheaper ("frugal" sounds better, right?) on activities you'd do only with yourself -- lunch, morning coffee, etc. -- and you'll have more money to spend on social activities when you're out with your friends!
