Trail of Love
It’s the number one dating no-no: dating in the office. But if your office is on the road and you’re working 24/7, things are bound to get a little heated from time to time. In this long and tumultuous campaign season, staffers are finding romance as they forge bonds traveling from Iowa to Kentucky and hopefully, all the way to the White House.
While love is blooming on both sides of the race, there is more evidence to suggest that Democratic campaigns are seeing more hook-ups because of the larger number of young staffers and the length of the race itself.
This isn’t the first time this has happened. According to the Wall Street Journal, four couples and three babies were birthed out of the New Hampshire headquarters of the Gore campaign in 2000. Does that mean you should be looking for love at work? The campaign situation is definitely more unique—on the road and under intense pressure, bonds are likely to form more quickly. In your workplace, you’d probably want to think about whether you could stomach a break up and still work with that person. The thing about a campaign romance is that once the race is over, everyone can go back to their homes if it doesn’t work out. [Wall Street Journal]
