Real Estate Ride

Real Estate Ride

When you think of foreclosed homes, do you imagine something that might be suitable for the Morticia and Gomez Addams—crumbling walls and a basement that only Uncle Fester could love? If so, you’re part of a demographic that many real estate companies are hoping to convert.

With the growing number of foreclosed properties on the market, several real estate companies are coming up with innovative ways to educate the public. One company in the Seattle area is even offering a foreclosed home tour via stretch SUV. The potential homebuyers are able to see properties and receive advice from a home inspector and mortgage loan officer.

Jim Mahoney was one of several foreclosure hunters who decided to go on one of the free tours. "I was surprised at the quality of some of the homes," he told the Seattle Times. "I expected some real damaged property and I didn't see that. Most of them were pretty nice."

A free tour, a little bit of education thrown in and an afternoon cruising around town in a swanky vehicle—sounds like a pretty good deal to us. If you’re looking to buy a home, check out some of these websites and find out if there are any tours in your neck of the woods. Tell Wednesday and Pugsley we said, "Hi." [Seattle Times]
