Question:Do you have any foolproof happiness inducers?

Okay, maybe not "happiness" but just something that is guaranteed to give you a good laugh. I recently found some you tube clips and jokes online that make me laugh every single time. I think it's good to have some momentary "uppers" like that.

Answer:

I really enjoy watching movies from the 30s and 40s. If I have the time, I'll make a cup of tea, get comfortable and slip into a Frank Capra screwball comedy (like You Can't Take it With You) or an early Hitchcock movie (like The Lady Vanishes) for an hour or so. That always resets my happiness meter.

Anytime I'm feeling a little blue, I just watch The Big Lewboski. It really ties the room together. Ok then?

I agree with Kristen ... the smiles and squeals of children are always sure to get my happiness meter running. Other things that make me happy:

Being out in nature - how can you not be happy when you're marveling at the beauty and bounty of the natural world.
Music - any kind of tunes will lift my mood. It's even fun to whistle!
Memories - thinking of funny times with friends always makes me happy.
Animals - if you like animals and want a few happiness inducers, check out the web site cuteoverload.com

and, get happy!

I find that being around kids-any kids-makes me laugh. Sometimes I just go to the park, walk around and listen to their giggles. It's a great reminder that we should all be laughing more often!
