Emotional Cheating
Is it ever possible to be “just friends” with the opposite sex? It didn’t work for Ross and Rachel or for Harry and Sally, and chances are it won’t work with the friend you’ve made outside of your marriage. MSNBC’s relationship columnist Brian Alexander responded to two readers this week who had questions about “emotional cheating” where one partner looks for comfort outside of the relationship.
Alexander responded by telling them that when people resort to physical cheating it’s oftentimes with someone who was a former confidant and that men and women have different takes on whether or not this is acceptable.
Well, he forgot to mention that if you’re at the point where you need to look outside of your marriage for a kindred spirit, its time to examine your relationship.
An un-scientific MSNBC poll on the same subject found that out of 446 survey respondents 46% said that emotional and physical affairs are equally awful. Which is worse for you, emotional or physical cheating? [MSNBC]
emotional cheating hurt me very much my husband and i had a good relationship for 4 years and we talked alot when he looked down i would know it and ask him whats up then he met a woman and husband throu his work and they became friends and with in 2 weeks he stopped talking to me she was calling him all the time he said she was like a sis and she had problems that she wanted to vent then i got the phone bill it jumped from 99.00 a month to 700.00 i looked and him and her were talking all day long in questioning it he got defensive said he will do as he pleases and there is nothing u can do about it.he stopped calling me during the day and our nites got distant till he left me. all the while he clamed they were just friends. they went every where together while her husband was at work he knew they were the emotions and the looks that he showered on her were evident. he hashad a pattern of this in the past and i wish i had a for site to this cause he was the love i will never find again
