"Ever since I subscribed to your site the daily reminders are the only thing I read apart from email and the NY Times headlines and weather. I am hugely critical of most self-help information, but this is not what your site is. I save 1 in 2 of these and have kept a library folder. They are intelligent, concise, relevant and are pitched at exactly the right level." -Martin Chalk, CEO, Balance Water

kristen

A couple of easy things that will add up to savings, and make your home more energy friendly during the cold months:

1. Turn your thermostat down by 1 degree, save energy and save up to 10% on your home heating bill.
2. Turn your water heater down to 60′C.
3. Close your curtains at dusk to stop heat escaping.

Also sealing up space in between the window and sill or top of window frame. Or if there aren't spaces, arranging towels along the sill, because sometimes you can feel the wind blow through the windows!
