Be a Tortoise, Not a Hare

Remember the saying "Slow and steady wins the race?" Turns out it's true. Slow down at work, with your partner and just in general. You may be surprised at how much sweeter life is when you aren't looking at it at warp speed.

What to do when you've forgotten your bags

SusanBuhr

Let's face it, sometime you just find yourself walking into the grocery store and your bags are back at home. When this happens, I improvise.

Since all the big grocery stores in my area now have recycle bins for bags, I take a few out and use those, looking inside first to be sure they are acceptably clean.

Also, since the reusable bags now sold at the store have been just a dollar, I sometimes buy one when I've forgotten just to increase my collection right when I need it. If I get too many reusable bags I can always pass them on to someone else.

You can also find empty cardboard boxes and can “flats” (the cardboard thing under the cans) from the store to transport your stuff when you forget your bags.
For small purchases, do without a bag. Some clerks WANT to give you a bag; “Are you SURE you don’t want a bag?” Yes I'm sure. What will I do with ANOTHER bag?

Great suggestion! . . . . checking for plastic bags collected for recycleing! Sometimes I find I'm walking in a daze, not only in the grocery store!

Could it be a sign of the times, or is it just me!!?
