Be a Tortoise, Not a Hare

Remember the saying "Slow and steady wins the race?" Turns out it's true. Slow down at work, with your partner and just in general. You may be surprised at how much sweeter life is when you aren't looking at it at warp speed.

What Would Martha Do?

What Would Martha Do?

Martha Stewart is the go-to woman for many when you need a good recipe (albeit a time-consuming one!), home décor advice and gardening solutions. It’s no surprise that she’s also chiming in on the going-green front. What does Martha have to say about eco-friendly options for the home?

Apartment Therapy’s Re-Nest re-blogs Martha’s “25 Eco-Chic Ideas for Your Home,” highlighting a dessert stand consisting of plates and upside-down mugs, which sounds a little crazy but really does achieve the “eco-chic” look. Because Martha’s empire is all about the visual, the 25 ideas are presented in a slide show accompanied by instructions for each.

Several of them have a cost of $0, meaning these green things are made from objects around the house or by re-purposing something, such as using old sweaters to reupholster chairs. Check them out and let us know what you think!

I love the idea of using sweaters to upholster chairs. I get her newsletter and it had a similar idea, which is to use old sweaters to make pillows.
