Question:Anyone have experience with sleep apnea,?

AHI- 37.3 more central events than obstructive. cpap doesn't seem, it's not helping and the provigil (200 mg) is not keeping me awake at the wheel (I can't rely on it) and I've fallen into endorsing Mom's opinion of the AMA, which did not serve her well at all, or then again, maybe she was right, hey, we're all gonna die and Buddha said, life is suffering, but I don't want to be a mick martyr and a kraut complainer, and worst of all, a grumpy grandpa.

PS: no opinions or advice, please, only your experience, thanks. (see what I mean about grumpy?)

Answer:

I suffer from sleep apnea I have tried the cpap new mask yet feel like I have found nothing that helps with the daytime dozing off. I am always tired and very grouchy a great deal of the time. My doctor says my depression has alot to do with the sleepiness. Well she'd be depressed too if she felt tired all of the time. No energy to do things with loved ones.

Answer:

My Husband has sleep apnea. He has it serevely. Falling asleep at the wheel etc. Discovered withhis cpap machine that if you don't have the proper mask it didn't work for him. He tried several before finding the proper one. Also, alot of places the people giving out the machines aren't always trained for the usage etc.. He went to a sleep study clinic and the Neurologist monitored his progress until things were right with the machine and Mask. It is worth checking into.
