Don't Quit Your Wine-ing

Don't Quit Your Wine-ing

The debate between health benefits vs. drawbacks of drinking continues with a new study that shows a glass or two of wine can lower your risk of developing a health diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Those who drank a glass of wine a day had half the risk of developing NAFLD compared to non-drinkers.

However, on the flip side, those that drank shots or beers daily had more than four times the risk of receiving a health diagnosis of NAFLD than the wine drinkers. More research is needed to see whether it’s the alcoholic or nutritional components in wine that give it the protective qualities that beer and liquor lack.

Will this study affect your drinking of wine, beer and liquor? [HealthDay]
