Question:Friending etiquette: How soon is too soon?

I met this guy at a party on Saturday who seemed really cool. We had a great conversation and were even planning on meeting up for coffee soon. But today I noticed that he's been friending a whole bunch of my friends who he doesn't even know and don't even live in this city! Is that weird of what?

Answer:

It sounds like he's trying to figure out who you are by friending your friends. Email or message him and try to get him to communicate directly with you.

I don't think I have the guts to do that!

Answer:

I think so. It's kind of interesting that he wants to be friends with your friends, but for what purpose, right? Maybe he doesn't understand what he's doing.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, at the same time, I have no problem saying "i'm curious as to why you're friending all these people" If you want to be funny about it, set you status message to say you're wondering why (person's name) is friending all my friends. See what happens next.
