Snuggle on the Couch with 3-D Goggles

Snuggle on the Couch with 3-D Goggles

Think your HDTV is super cool already? You might have the opportunity to upgrade and make your high-definition viewing experience really stand out—in 3-D.

A couple of big TV manufacturers have said they will be launching products with 3-D capabilities this year. While hanging out at home with brightly colored 3-D specs may not sound thrilling, it can bring the movie theater atmosphere from “Beowulf” to your living room. Several major companies have mentioned 3-D TVs, including Mitsubishi and Samsung, and Pixar will release its latest DVDs in 3-D.

If you’re interested in making a 3-D TV a part of your entertainment center, be prepared to shell out at least a couple thousand dollars. Samsung’s 50-inch Plasma HDTV with 3-D will be around $4,000…but it will be PC compatible for adding a third dimension to your video games!

Would you consider technology like this for your home? Or is it worth a trip to the movies to experience 3-D? [TV Predictions]
