Go, Mac, Go!

Go, Mac, Go!

If you’re a long time Mac user then you probably remember their old slogan, “5 down, 95 to go.” It was referring to their percentage of market share, generously claiming they held 5% when in reality it was much less than that. Still, they maintained their efforts and plugged along.

Today they’re inching up to 10% in the U.S. Windows is still the leader in market share for operating systems, but considering how far Mac has come, 10% is nothing to sneeze at. Analysts suggest that some of Apple’s OS success is from the excitement of their other products, i.e. the iPhone and iPod. The same analysts maintain that Apple just makes good products and executes them well. Overall, that will lead to their success.

Do you think the Mac will ever be on par with Windows in terms of market share? Or will Windows always be the dominating OS? Are you thinking about switching to a Mac? [cnet]

Nope, there'll always be more Windoze boxes in the world. Unless of course, Apple decides to license the OS, and I don't think there's much chance of that.
