Going, Going…Gone

A proposal is something that should be unique and surprising. Twenty-eight-year-old Lefkos Hajji planned a great one, only to watch his ring—and his dream proposal—float away.

Lefkos placed a $12,000 diamond ring inside an inflated helium balloon—his fiancé was to pop the balloon as he popped the question. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to make his plan reality. As he was on his way to ask for her hand, a gust of wind swept the balloon from his hand.

If you’re planning to propose, may we recommend something a little less flighty? Good old-fashioned champagne and candlelight never hurt anyone. And if you do come up with a wacky way to present that ring, be sure to get some insurance first!
