Plan smaller parties

VictoriaB

Some people opt for a series of smaller parties (one for friends, one for family) in places and at times that make it easier to kick back and have fun rather than stress about pleasing everyone.

There's so much pressure to make one reception suit all and it's all over in a matter of hours. It might even be more economical to tailor parties to smaller groups.

That's a great idea! My friends did three small parties with just champagne and cake—one for their friends in New York, one for family in Wisconsin and another for the bride's family in her native country. It was way less stressful—and less expensive—than trying to get everyone in the same place at the same time.
