One Wedding and a Funeral...Parlor
When Jason and Rachael Storm informed their guests of their wedding location, many acted as if they had seen a ghost. That's probably because Jason, a funeral director, decided to take advantage of his resources and hold their celebration at his place of work, the Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home.
"I look at it as, if you go to a church and get married, how many caskets do you think have been rolled down that aisle?" he told The Herald-Palladium of St. Joseph, MI.
Talk about thinking outside the box! Ok, ok, excuse our morbid pun. But this couple probably saved a lot of money by planning a wedding in a place already available to them, and they probably got a good discount on flowers and an organist. Although many of the guests initially refused to attend, most of them showed up on the big day and enjoyed the festivities.
If you've got an idea that's a bit outside of the norm, don't let initial reactions be a deterrent. Follow your heart and your guests will too.
Would you ever hold your wedding in a funeral parlor to cut costs, or is the irony too much for you to take? [Associated Press]
