Blaire Allison on Finding Romance
Since some of our listening audience may not yet know who you are, would you please tell us a bit about yourself.
Sure! I'm a Love Expert known as the Love Guru. I'm also an Intuitive Heart Healer, which means I have the gift to open & heal people's hearts so they can attract the love they desire. I'm most known for my http://www.marryblaire.com web site and story. In 2004 I was frustrated in my search to find the "One." I had successfully helped singles attract love but couldn't get it right for myself. So I put up a web site, http://www.marryblaire.com stating "I'm Ready To Get Married—Do You Know My Husband?®" and went on a spiritual journey and transformation that taught an easier, flowing, natural way that brings each of us our "One," rather than having us go out searching. This is what I call "The Spiritual Way to Attract "the One." The web site was a HUGE hit and my "hunt for a hubby" story was covered in the Media worldwide. I'm featured regularly in the media, including The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, The Montel Williams Show, Inside Edition, Glamour Magazine, and as one of the 30 Entrepreneurs Under 30 in The New York Daily News. My web site is http://www.loveguru.net.
You are a great success. Because of what you've accomplished and where you are in life, what would you tell others to Inspire them today, regardless of where they are in their life?
Focus on your passion and let the Universe lead the way in showing how your success will come together. Your life can change in an instant! For example, my http://www.marryblaire.com web site was designed (by me) and put up overnight. Within two days I was getting emails for my own VH1 reality show and press requests to be on MSNBC and in The New York Times.
You make it look easy, but I'm guessing you've experienced challenges in your life. Can you share with our listeners how that has strengthened you to reach success? In other words, how do you overcome adversity?
Each time something happens in my life that I don't initially categorize as "good," I look for the deeper meaning in the situation, and what there is to learn. I know how to recognize "frustrating feelings" as a gift to welcome in something new and better into my life, which then translates into more creative ideas and more business and life success.
Everyone has ideas on how to improve her life, whether it be a new job, moving to a new city, or finding love, but change can be a bit scary sometimes. Can you please share an experience with us where you "stepped off the ledge" with only faith, and took a big risk, based only on your belief that you would succeed?
This answer goes back to my http://www.marryblaire.com story again. The web site was meant to be a private web site, for friends and family to look at and then for them to find "the One" for me, I didn't want to do it anymore. But instead, I put it out for the whole world to see. I ended up blogging about my dates and my feelings about my love life. I was totally out there and in this "unknown" place, since I didn't know what was going to happen in my love life and I had the whole world rooting for me and watching to see if I would succeed in finding my "One." Since the web site was "accidentally" leaked to the public and the media, I saw that as a way that the Universe had stepped in to lead me in my journey to find love. I looked at my story as having a higher purpose, so I went with it, trusted my decision, and kept taking step after step wherever the Spirit lead me. My full faith and trust was rewarded, as I ended up inspiring and teaching thousands of people through blogging about my journey how to love themselves, how to trust the Universe to lead the way when it comes to their love lives, and how really to be proud of who they are and their desires in love. I ended up succeeding in so many ways through just being in the moment, sharing my story on the blog, and trusting that I would be successful in my endeavor.
How can others do what you did?
Most people think that if they want to find love, that they should do what I did and put up a web site that says they want to find their husband (or wife)! This isn't what I learned and I don't suggest it. Instead what you should do is to follow what's in your heart. What frustrates you in your life? What makes you mad? Rather than stew in the frustration, do something about it. Be creative, see what ideas come into your mind. Then take action. The idea for http://www.marryblaire.com came to me quite suddenly after being frustrated for the last time about my love life. I couldn't do the same old, same old. So I prayed and surrendered to the Universe and that's when the idea came. I was excited about it, thought it was funny. I did it for pure fun. It made dating fun for me again. If something is frustrating you in your life, think, pray, and surrender so an idea that makes that task fun again will come to you. In other words, follow the ideas that you come up with that are FUN!
What process, steps or exercises do you recommend that our listeners could do right now and each morning, to improve the quality of their lives?
Just BE. Be silent, be still, journal, take time to breathe, be out in nature. Rather than being so busy, take time to listen to what that little voice in your heart says. Our society does keep us running around like crazy, so we feel like there's not enough time in the day, that we're not good enough, and that we have to keep going for more and more. At first, when we must slow down our lives. Then once we ease into the slowness a bit, we'll find we have more peace of mind and happier, more fulfilling lives.
What's the greatest joy in your life?
I wake up each morning, appreciating the beauty that's around me and I'm grateful that each day I have the opportunity to express myself by sharing my gift with the world.
