Mommy Needs a Makeover

Being a mom is more than a full-time gig, so it’s not surprising that other aspects of your life may suffer (more like, cease to exist) in the process. With kids in tow, and a mile-long to-do list, what you are wearing is practically your last concern! But, it’s important to emerge from this “Mommy style rut” and change your look.

Start off by losing the loungewear. Yes, sweats are comfy, but rarely do they accent something nice about your body. On the other hand, really flattering jeans can transform your look. If you’re going to hastily pull on a pair of pants, go with some classic, well-made denim. If t-shirts are your M.O., that’s okay, but find a stylish, fitted jacket you can throw on as you run out the door.

When it comes to shoes, the possibilities are endless; neither style nor comfort need be sacrificed, so find a happy medium. In general, moms tend to wear darker colors from head to toe if they are still susceptible to kids’ “spillies,” but putting some color back into your wardrobe can lighten up your mood and make you stand out.
