"Ever since I subscribed to your site the daily reminders are the only thing I read apart from email and the NY Times headlines and weather. I am hugely critical of most self-help information, but this is not what your site is. I save 1 in 2 of these and have kept a library folder. They are intelligent, concise, relevant and are pitched at exactly the right level." -Martin Chalk, CEO, Balance Water

Blame It on the Soda

Okay, people, it’s been over three months since the holidays. You still can’t get those pants zipped? Maybe you need to stop drinking all that diet soda. That’s right, diet soda. For months, years even, you’ve been putting up with the nasty aftertaste of artificial sweeteners, and for what?

Increased sugar cravings and weight gain.

Recent studies presented at a meeting of the American Diabetes Association linked drinking diet soda with these results. Add the increased risk of heart disease and you’ve got a recipe for—well, switching to something other than diet soda.

There’s always good ol’ H20. It’s calorie-free and is great for keeping your body well hydrated. If you need more taste, try one of the fruit-flavored varieties—no, not the kind with artificial sweeteners, but nice try. A couple of good unsweetened options are hint and owater.
