Back in School

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. This one has a little car. Say, what a lot of fish there are.

And what a lot of mentally un-stimulating books there are. Fine when you’re reading to kids, but on your own, you need a challenge once in a while, something a little meatier than those airport bookstore paperbacks or trashy magazines.

Put on your tweed blazer, select a classic novel and with your nose in the air, present it to the bookstore clerk. Hmph! Feel your superior intellect weed its way through dense passages. Stumble across words you’ve never heard in your life and pretend to understand their subtle nuances. (Then, when no one’s looking, get out your dictionary and re-read it.)

Kinda makes you wonder why you weren’t more of a nerd back in school. With no one forcing you to read them, classics are actually enjoyable.

Classics are enjoyable and I read them with my dictionary in hand. It doesn't matter who is there anymore.

There is another book that is a good read for the college student, that is The Focused Student. It is really great and helps you to really make the most of your college experience and after. I highly recomended it.
