"Ever since I subscribed to your site the daily reminders are the only thing I read apart from email and the NY Times headlines and weather. I am hugely critical of most self-help information, but this is not what your site is. I save 1 in 2 of these and have kept a library folder. They are intelligent, concise, relevant and are pitched at exactly the right level." -Martin Chalk, CEO, Balance Water

Flu Shot

lindad14

I went to my OB last week and she suggested I get a flu shot (to protect me and the baby). I did some research and thought I would share:

Pregnant women are also urged to get the flu shot, not only because they are at higher risk for flu-related complications, but because their vaccinations will also benefit their babies.

Infants under 6 months have the highest rate of hospitalization from the flu among children. Despite this hard fact, only 20 percent of currently pregnant women recently surveyed said they planned to be vaccinated this season.
