"I was actually waiting for your book to come out at Barnes and Noble, and reserved it two weeks before it came out. I told my therapist about it and your web site and how you made a positive impact on me." -M

And Later, They'll Have a Contest to Name the Flavor

Planning on breastfeeding your baby?  If the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals had their way, it wouldn’t be just your baby reaping the rewards of mother's milk.

The organization wants Ben & Jerry's to use milk from nursing moms, rather than cows, for their famous line of ice creams, saying it would reduce the suffering of cows and calves and give ice cream lovers a healthier product.

“We’re aware this idea is somewhat absurd, and that putting it into practice is a stretch. At the time same, it's pretty absurd for us to be drinking the milk of cows,” said Ashley Byrne, a campaign coordinator for PETA.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ben & Jerry's—and its customers—aren’t on board with this plan.  Hey, even the La Leche League International, the world's oldest breast-feeding support organization, thinks it’s pretty ridiculous.

What do you think?  Would you eat ice cream made from breast milk?  And, would someone PLEASE tell us what Ben and Jerry's would name such an ice cream? Sound off below!

Cows give more milk. I love the picture of the woman above eating straight from what looks like a half-quart of ice cream. Such a headache to come.

I am all for the ethical treatment of animals and I support PETA, but this is just ridiculous. Especially, because one of PETA's largest arguments is that eating or drinking milk products is unnatural once we are no longer of age to be feeding from our mothers' breasts. As for names, I am still working on them ... (;

If PETA admits the idea is "somewhat absurd," why are they even publicly talking about it? Yes, it's a dumb idea. As for a name, how about Booberry Cheesecake or Ta-ta Taffe?

I love animals and usually support PETA in its fight against animal cruelty, but this idea is absoultely ridiculous. If the request came in April, I would have thought it was an April Fool's joke.

I am the first to fight against animal cruelty but come on. This is a bit extreme to say the least.

I don't have any children but think the only way I would consume a person's milk is if it were my own or maybe if it were my wife's. And I don't have the ability to produce considering I am a man.
