Potty Time

You’re a proud new father, carrying your little bundle of joy around while running errands so that mommy can have a bit of a break. When suddenly, disaster strikes.

A poopy diaper.

You head for the restroom only to discover, once again, you don’t have any sort of changing table. What’s a dad to do?

Unfortunately, only about one in twenty men’s restrooms are equipped with a diaper deck. More and more public places are creating family restrooms, where either mom or dad can go in with their baby or child, but these are not yet widespread. You can ask a passing female if she’ll guard the women’s room door for you, but that’s not always a possibility.

Try this informative video (at two minutes, you can watch it between changings) on ways to change a diaper in public when there’s no diaper deck in sight. These tips are good for both dads and moms who find themselves stranded without a changing table.

Additionally, one woman (dude—you guys maybe don't care after all...shouldn't you have started this?) has decided to take matters into her own hands and has formed a petition to mandate baby changing tables in every public restroom. Click here if you’d like to sign.

What creative ways have you found to change your baby’s diaper when you were left with no other choice?
