The great thing about adopting in tofay's world is that, increasingly, the definition of what makes a family is expanding.  More and more we seem to be coming to the conclusion that what really makes a family is the shared experience of love.  Lots of it!

Today's definition of family is expanding indeed. But, let's be certain to take note that it is an ancient teaching that anyone who is not my relative is still my brother or my sister. That conviction, that truth, is at the root of all civilization. Not to understand that is not to understand the behaviors of love. Love is not a word; it's a manner of being.
