The Business End

Icon_tip_1

Congratulations on deciding to start your own business! It’s important to lay a foundation for success during the first 30 days of starting your business. During this time you should thoroughly research your industry, target audience, expected operating expenses and competition. You’ll need this information to put together a business plan that will serve as your road map for success and help you get the funding you need to open your doors.

While it may be tempting to rush rashly toward your grand opening, it’s really important to slow down and do the proper research before you start signing contracts and spending money. Business owners who don’t spend enough time on research are putting themselves and their new business at risk. Taking the time to get all your ducks in a row before you open your doors is the smartest thing you can do. Remind yourself that developing a solid, thorough understanding of the business environment isn’t holding you back from achieving your goals. Instead, it’s increasing the likelihood that the fruits of your labor will result in success.

DID YOU KNOW? About 600,000 new businesses are launched in the United States each year. Now that you’ve made up your mind to launch your new business venture, it’s time to start moving forward!
