Stuck with old wallpaper?

princesswb

One of the first things I wanted to do in my kitchen was change the wallpaper. Unfortunately, my paper was stuck to unsized walls. What this means is large chunks of drywall would come down with the wallpaper and make repair that much more difficult. Since my wallpaper seams were very tight I felt that a good option was to paint over them. I went to my local Benjamin Moore store and chatted with them about sealers. We came up with a water based sealer that would adhere to the wallpaper and prevent bleeding of color through the new paint. I put two coats on and then painted over the old wall paper, no one can tell that there's old paper under my new Azure blue walls. Don't be surprised at the consistency of the sealer, it is very thin but goes up well with a roller
