Should Lenders Forgive Debt?

A Mortgage Broker has a big plan to reduce foreclosures. He’s trying to get lenders to forgive some of the debt and allow homeowners who are about to go into foreclosure refinance their mortgage. Of course banks aren’t on track with this yet since they’d have to volunteer to take huge hits, but it’s definitely something to think about. Seattlepi has the story.
