A Greener iPod

You just bought your video iPod Nano. You’re so thrilled that you tossed your old iPod (circa 2005) to the side and forgot all about it. But WAIT! Don’t keep it in the back of a drawer or trash it in the garbage. Just like computers, iPods contain harmful components that could be threatening if thrown to a landfill.

Thankfully, solutions exist that allow you to respect the environment and save big bucks. Apple offers a recycling program where stores accept old iPods and then give you 10% off of your next iPod purchase.

Looking for a little more…since a discount is nice, but you already shelled out the money for a new iPod? EverGreen Electronics just moved its recycling project worldwide, where you can buy a used iPod, repair the one you have or recycle. EverGreen accepts iPods and iPhones in new and fair conditions, or even if it is broken. And regardless of the kind or status, you will receive payment for your do-good actions. From $150 for a “like new” 4GB iPhone to $17.60 for a broken third generation 40GB iPod, you’ll cash in and help the Earth. What could make a day better than that? [EverGreen Electronics]
