Hi, Lilsister
Set a realistic goal. We all want to lose weight, but we often set such a large goal that it's discouraging when we can't achieve it, so we give up. Set a small goal ... like adding a certain amount of exercise to your daily or weekly routine -- even if it's just walking around the block. I love the story of Susan Powters... she eventually lost 130 pounds and she started just like you ... with the knowledge that she needed to make a change and the desire to make it happen ... remember her "stop the insanity" tagline?
Start some healthy habits. If you drink always diet soda, start drinking more water and less soda.
Add more protein to your diet. And start each meal with protein.
Drink lots of water ... especially first thing in the morning.
Eat your bigger meals earlier in the day when you need the fuel and have more time to digest and metabolize what you've eaten.
Find a buddy ... many people say it's much easier to diet and exercise when you have a friend along. If you can't join weight watchers or other group where you will find support, find some other women with similar issues or join an online support group. Just knowing other people are in the same boat and dealing with the same daily issues will make you feel better.
Have a goal ... if it's for your health, that's a good one, but also have a personal goal ... a piece of clothing you want to fit into or an event you want to look good for.
Keep a food journal. It helps to look back on what you're eating, how much and when. You need to take stock of what's going on so you can change it.
Diet + Exercise. All the experts agree, it's the one-two punch of diet and exercise that will make the difference. Just starving yourself won't work (your body will store fat)... you really need to add movement to get the fat burning.
YOU can do it! Good luck.
