I've been charged with a felony, and cannot find a job! Help
I've seen a website that lists companies who hire people with felony convictions. (Of course I don't remember what that site is right now) Most of them are retail companies like Home Depot, Walmart, etc. Not glamorous but will do. Starting a business is a good idea if you have something that you like to do that you think can be turned into a business. If you have made the changes necessary not to repeat your mistake, that could be a good direction to focus on.

Contact your local BETTER FAMILY LIFE AGENCY. I know at the beginning of summer there was stimulus $ called "workers re-entry program" Also, call your local ONE STOP CAREER CENTER AND ASK THEM FOR ADVISE.
