Peace and Quiet

Icon_tip_4

When life starts to feel overwhelming, give yourself the gift of peace and quiet. Stepping back—even briefly—from the whirlwind of daily activity gives your mind a chance to calm down, refocus and see a solution to whatever challenge you may be facing. Living more spiritually is about finding that calmness and harnessing it for your spirituality needs.

It’s easy to distract yourself from your thoughts and fears by using people, television or work, but by moving into a place of peace and quiet, you actually allow yourself to create space for new options and ideas. Our Higher self often tries to give us answers or solutions, but with all our busyness, we rarely stop to reflect. Even 10 minutes of true quiet can be restorative and productive. Detach from all media sources by leaving your cell phone, iPod and BlackBerry behind, no matter how hard this may be! Don’t focus on anything but you. Sit quietly, breathe deeply and look inward.

Taking a few minutes today—and each day—to find your center will let you become more spiritual and help you handle anything going on in your life.
