Having More Money

We'd like to open this up with a little question: Suze Orman has always expressed her financial advice in a gender-neutral fashion. So why would she write a book called Women and Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny?

According to chapter one of her newest book, it's because women are getting pretty good at hiding the fact that they need help when it comes to money management, and she believes they can use a little extra push when it comes to educating themselves.  We cringe as we concede she might have a point—after all, when was the last time you contributed to your ROTH IRA? (Um...you do have a retirement plan, right?)


The book has eight chapters and includes a five-month plan that takes women from having nothing substantial to having  savings and investments all their own. The advice is practical and inspiring. Orman shows readers that it is important to take care of themselves before they can take care of others—a fact we too often forget. She also provides direct and informative feedback on the often complicated relationship that exists between women and their finances. Her advice will guide readers past the
awkward stages and into the successful habits needed to maintain a healthy financial lifestyle. And our guess, based on the success of her other books, is that even a guy might find some practical advice here too.
