What is the belief you personally go to during times of change?

I read books of wisdom and poems, especially by Paramahansa Yogananda, the founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship. I practice yoga (breath, meditation, relaxation, postures), and sing and dance with music to feel centered and prepared for any changes.

The best thing about change is...

The knowledge that nothing is permanent, which helps me to live more in the Now and be grateful for every new moment.

What is the best change you have ever made?

When I helped my mother die in the most peaceful way by reading The Tibetan Book of the Dead to her the last 5 days. Instead of becoming attached to my fear of her death, I chose to direct her to visualizations of pure light and joy. That choice changed my life forever when she said, "According to the book, I have about an hour left. I have been to the other side. I have seen the light at the end of the tunnel. It is so beautiful Kathryn. I am ready to leave my body and soar through space." She died with a feeling of joyful anticipation. That is the best choice for change I have ever made.

What does Living Spiritually mean?
”A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.” –Albert Einstein

Einstein clearly defines living spiritually with this quote. If you pay attention to the basics in life and learn how to care for yourself and others with unconditional love and compassion, the potential for joy is immense. Living spiritually bestows a realization of self that leads to the awareness that separateness is but an illusion, and that we are all interconnected. According to physicists, life is like a hologram—each part reflects the whole. In other words, our thoughts and actions are part of the same holographic reality. What we think and do has an effect on everyone else.

How do I know if I am living spiritually?
If you are spiritual and/or religious, you believe that there is more to life than observable, physical reality. It is this faith in the divine that becomes your solid foundation. You make an effort to do your best and to self-actualize your deepest principles, knowing that you have an effect on everyone around you. ‘Right Action’ results. In other words, you do to others as you would have them do to you.

What steps can I take to live more spiritually?
A simple way to approach the concept of living spiritually is to think about what has real meaning for you in your life. Start to honor your grandmothers, mothers, and ancestors for their oral histories and for what they went through for you to be here. Then begin to care for all children and animals, and revere the earth that sustains you. These are all crucial elements for living spiritually. Look at what the world offers you in the way of groups, organizations, volunteer services, and any outlet to express yourself in a more spiritual and loving way.

Recognize that intention overrides techniques. You can try all kinds of fads and methods to make your life more spiritual, but whatever you do in the world is a reflection of what you think or feel within you. If you are unhappy or stuck, choose to use your intention to become more conscious of your body, thoughts, words and actions. The more you tend to yourself and others, the easier it is for spirit to enter.

How will my world change through living spiritually?
A global shift in consciousness began with the Web in the early ‘90s. With so much spiritual wisdom available to all of us, it is easy to find inspiration online. Reading the words of those who have been on the path for a long time is always helpful. I highly recommend being part of online forums, like this one, where you can express yourself openly without being judged by anyone.

Have you ever noticed that when you begin to learn a new subject, it seems to pop up all around you spontaneously? Physicists call this accidental consequence. Some call it coincidence. What you feel and think matters, and the law of attraction for living spiritually is all about you becoming a living magnet of Kindness. Once you make a decision to change your life in this way, your world will change dramatically. So-called positive coincidences will begin to be commonplace in your life.

What can I do if living spiritually seems to be too difficult for me?
Self-realization is an imperative component for living spiritually. It is hard to understand this concept if you are constantly sidetracked by negative thoughts. For instance, repetitious dramas and tangents become wearisome, not only for you, but for everyone else who has to live through them with you. A great way to transform this habit into something positive is to write a list of how your future would look if it were perfect. If you don’t enjoy lists, visualize it. Move forward and take concrete action to change your life to be able to live spiritually. See yourself living it already—physically, mentally, and most of all, with passion and feeling.

Bottom line: You are the co-creator of your life, so begin by not taking your consciousness for granted and love yourself wholeheartedly for the being of light that you are. How you see yourself goes a long way in how others see you.
