Getting enough sleep is paramount to healthy living. If you're finding that rest elusive, try our top tips for getting a good night's sleep, like making sure your mind isn't overstimulated and that you create a good environment for shut-eye.
"Ever since I subscribed to your site the daily reminders are the only thing I read apart from email and the NY Times headlines and weather. I am hugely critical of most self-help information, but this is not what your site is. I save 1 in 2 of these and have kept a library folder. They are intelligent, concise, relevant and are pitched at exactly the right level." -Martin Chalk, CEO, Balance Water

The Short Of It

The Short Of It

In the movie “Office Space,” remember the look Peter Gibbons gets on his face when his boss announces in the most drab voice possible that Friday will be “Hawaiian Shirt Day?” “Casual Fridays” only remind you of how professionally and potentially uncomfortable you dress all the other days! While women may have it hard with pantyhose and heels (both choices, mind you!), men are stuck wearing pants every single day, regardless of bursting thermometers.

Until now? The New York Times reports on the new shorts-wearing trend in workplaces. Hooray! And we’re not just talking about the local UPS man. Changing your look while on the job has always been a challenge if there are dress codes, unspoken or not. In regards to the shorts issue, one young man interning at Vogue asks, “Why are women allowed to do it and not men?”

As far as the editor-in-chief of Out Magazine is concerned, “The idea of being threatened by the objectified male body has gone.” In the “catching up” game of genders roles, men have possibly and finally caught up to where women are in terms of work attire.
