If you’re planning on being the next James Bond—fighting bad guys and being shot at—then a design from Miguel Caballero, the world's only producer of "designer bulletproof fashion," just might be the style change you're looking for.

It was 16 years ago that Caballero first decided to create bulletproof designs. He was attending Bogotá's Los Andes University, where many of his classmates were children of politicians, and wore obviously bulky bulletproof vests. Now, Caballero’s bulletproof collection includes a leather jacket that weighs just 2.6 lbs. and a polo shirt that can withstand a strike from a 9-mm revolver—a far cry from his classmate's bulky attire.

Of course, the clothing does come with a hefty price tag; so if you do decide to be the next James Bond it's going to cost you!

Tell us what you think about bulletproof fashion. Will this take off as mainstream, or be relegated to the history of "interesting" fashion concepts that never quite made it to middle America? [Time]
