Harness the Power of Pure Desire
We often hold back or minimize our deepest desires, because we're so attached to the outcome. But according to motivational speaker and life coach, Mike Robbins, dreaming big, regardless of the results, is what allows our lives to take off in magical ways. "The more passionate, bold, clear, and free we become with our desires," he suggests, "the more likely we are to not only manifest them…, but to live with an authentic sense of passion, purpose, and power."
To expand your capacity for passionate desire, without attachment, Robbins suggests doing the following:
1. Notice your relationship with desire itself. How do you feel about your desires, dreams and goals? Scared? Excited? Optimistic? Are you comfortable having them and expressing them? Consider how past experiences with desires have affected your feelings about wanting.
2. Allow yourself to want. What are your deepest desires at this moment? Challenge yourself to push past any perceived limitations, judgments, or fears about them. Practice wanting with passion while letting go of what it will mean if it does (or doesn't) manifest.
3. Get support and encouragement from others. Share your fears and desires with the people you trust most in your life. Allow their love and support to give you the courage to dream with intensity and to remind you that you're okay, just as you are (whether or not you manifest your desires).
