Moms Have Rights, Too

Did you know that The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission notes a rise in pregnancy-bias complaints of 14% over the last year? This is the largest increase in 13 years. Apparently, the law that is supposed to protect women from such grief—the federal Pregnancy Discrimination Act—doesn’t keep employers from firing or refusing to hire expectant moms. It only states that women can’t be singled out for worse treatment than male or non-pregnant counterparts. That’s a tough thing to prove!
