Question:My husband has been gambling away our money.Should I remove my name from any accounts before he ruins my credit?

Answer:

Unfortunately, based on my experience, the damage is already done. You can remove your name but not the debt. Closing the account's might be an option. This is what I did. My name was not even on the account. I made a payment and asked that the account be closed. tah dah!

You may want to consider an intervention before your whole financial life is in ruin. Your pastor or an addictions counselor might help to facilitate an intervention with your husband. Trying to change him is impossible! Especially if he is addicted to gambling. He can and will take you right down with him.

The option of what changes to make are in your court. You can make positive changes for yourself.
The first change I made was making and keeping my appointment with God daily. Step 11 in the 12 step program. To keep conscious contact with God through prayer and meditation. Wow what a difference it made!

Peace be with you! dkr4jesus (dmrsreedy)
