Dissed and Dismissed

Dissed and Dismissed

Amanda Beard didn't make it to the Olympics in Beijing this year, but that didn't stop the former gold medal swimmer and Playboy model from chatting about the sporting event on Arizona's "Johnjay and Rich in the Morning" radio program. Surprisingly, her most scandalous topic of conversation wasn't about her nude anti-fur campaign photos, but about finding romance. One of the DJs asked Beard if she had ever kissed Michael Phelps.

"Ew, no," she blurted out during the broadcast. "I have really good taste. He's not really my type, personally."

Burn! That girl is loco. Who wouldn't want to date one of the greatest athletes of our time?

Beard's blow off shows that being dissed is an often-unavoidable roadblock on the road to finding romance—even if you're a 14-time gold medal winner.

If your love interest tells you he or she can't go out because it's hair washing night, or he or she is just not that into you, take a few moments to pick up your pride from the spot where they ground it into the floor and then hold your head up high. Like Phelps, you probably have more medals on your shelf anyway. [Boston Herald]
