Throw out your flip flops and flat shoes

LMAYO9

They will do nothing but screw up your feet, and I'm living proof! After spending 90% of the summer in flip flops and ked-like shoes, I am now suffering for it. I have plantar fasciitis, which means the muscle that supports my arch (and is connected to every toe and my heel) is inflammed. SO now I'm sitting at work with a very unfashionable foot brace and taking pain meds ALL BECAUSE i wanted to wear flip flops and cute flats like everyone else.

So heed the warning. Supportive shoes may look dorky, but a corrective boot is way dorkier.

I think this is so interesting. I, too, have suffered from plantar fasciitis and one of the first things my doctor pointed to was my shoes. We think that heels are the devil -- and the can be -- but the opposite, which are flats and flip flops, can be just as harmful.

My doctor also prescribed some very supportive inserts to put in my shoes -- they make cute shoes much more comfy!

Hmm, my kids love flip flops. You must walk a lot!
