A Break from Illness

Icon_tip_8

Congratulations on a job well done. You’ve reached the end of the first week of handling a health diagnosis. Did you think you’d have come this far in so short a period of time? Are you starting to feel like you’re more in control of your diagnosis than you were a week ago? If you are, that’s great. If not, that feeling will come with time. Know that you are on the right path and better health is on its way.

You should be very proud of yourself and your progress so far. Treat yourself to something special today for your hard work, something that makes you feel good, but isn’t bad for you or could derail your treatments. Your condition does not define you and it's important to enjoy the small pleasures in life we often take for granted. Buy a book you’ve always wanted to read, get a massage, go to the zoo with a friend, go see a movie or bring some freshly cut, colorful flowers into your home. Whatever you do, make sure it’s something that’s satisfying to you.

View this treat as a celebration of the present and a promise of the future.
