Question:I recently had several tumors removed, I now have a few spots in my body that are just empty space. How do I fill that empty space that is between my skin and mussle?

I had a large tumor removed from the top of my spine. Another removed from my left elbow, two from my right elbow. And another two from my upper left thigh. The tumor from the top of my spine is in the middle of my shoulderblades. My doctor says my body needs to fill it with protine. My question is how do I help my body do this? What foods do I need to eat? Is there a exercise rutine I can do to help my body ajust to this empty cavaidy that is now in my body?

Answer:

I agree with LMAY09. I used to be shy with doctors thinking that I was taking up their time by silly questions. I had one bad doctor's visit where he botched up something that took me a very long time to heal. I realized then and there that the doc...works for me and is there to answer all of my silly questions.

I would call the doctor's office and ask for specific instructions about any changes to your diet and exercise routine.

Wow. I am so sorry you've had to deal with such a medical headache. If your doctor is telling you to add protein to your diet to fill in the gaps, you might want to go to a nutritionist to make sure you're getting the right amount, and ask if you need to exercise to strengthen these areas as you add protein to your diet.

Some good sources of protein include: yogurt, lean meats (chicken and turkey), seafood and beans. Here's a good list of healthy protein from WebMD: Link

I do believe in the healing power of foods, so hopefully this list will help you.

Has your doctor given you any more guidance? It sort of sounds like he's leaving you to flail and figure it out on your own. That's not fair.
